So I got a little side tracked this weekend, working on a custom order for a more playful New York Beauty quilt top, and this is the result. I hope she likes it!
I bought a huge collection of fat quarters through Etsy.com from a Child Find organization in the US, and they included a terrific selection of prints with hearts and watermelons and stars that I used in this top and in a similar one that I made and sold on Etsy.
I was able to get away this past Saturday for a trip to Lunenburg and Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. It was a beautiful day, and not raining, as it has been so much this summer. The tall ship Bluenose II (the one on the Canadian dime) was in port, giving tours around the bay. Here's a picture of her in port:

And of course a trip to the south shore wouldn't be right without a stop at Suttles and Seawinds quilt shop in Mahone Bay. I found wonderful bags of fabric pieces that they call "Bags of Suttles" and can't wait to start on a quilt with them.
I'll keep you posted!
