Not so good signs of spring!

Mr. Patchmaker and I live in a community called Salmon River, and there is indeed a Salmon River. We had major rain on Wednesday the 4th, an ice jam formed, and this is what the Salmon River looks like at the moment! We aren't close to the river, but for those folks who are, they had major ice and water damage. The Red Cross was called in to help, and to rescue people from their houses. According to news reports, one mother slipped while leaving her house, and she and 2 children were swept into the water; fortunately they were quickly rescued. And the spring thaw is just starting . . . .

All the while, I was home sewing:

Happy Quilting!

do you live in the Salmon River area of Idaho? WE use to live near that area and for awhile in Idaho Falls then Arco. Those pictures of the ice sure are something.

Nope - Nova Scotia. Home of the world's largest ice cubes! ;_) At least for a little while.

Is this the Salmon River close to Truro? I grew up just outside Stewiacke. Your quilts are gorgeous!

Thanks, Heather! Yes, it is the Salmon River close to Truro. Wow; Stewiacke isn't far away at all. Where do you live now?

I live in Grand Lake which is just past Enfield on the way to Halifax on the old road. Not too far away still!
