In the 1970's, my mother, who was an avid quilter (but did NOT teach me to quilt), sent a letter to a newspaper column called the Home Loving Hearts, asking for quilt patterns. I came upon some of the replies she got, including this letter from a lady in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. My mother, who lived in Manitoba, 3000 km away, passed the book on to me, and now it's back within a few hours drive of its starting place in Glace Bay.
The letter was tucked inside this book, Easy Quilts, which says its "Another Aunt Martha's Creation. It has no date on it anywhere, but I'm guessing maybe mid 60's??

Since this lady shared her book, I thought I'd share this May Basket pattern from the book. If you'd like me to email you a pdf of the pattern, leave a message or contact me through my website, and I'll send it to you.
Happy Quilting!
