A Quick Tour of the South Shore

Nova Scotia's South Shore is THE place for tourism on mainland Nova Scotia. We live about 2 hours drive from Mahone Bay, so it's a great spot for a mini-vacation. Here are some of the shots I took earlier this week.

One of the quilt shops on the main street of Mahone Bay

Another quilt shop on the main street of Mahone Bay (right next door, in fact!)

No fear of color here!

Have a Yarn, where you can find beautiful hand dyed rovings.

The Picton Castle was in port. The Picton Castle is a sail-training tall ship, taking trainees on its voyages, to learn about seafaring under square-sail. Sounds like fun . . . but definitely not for me! There's more about the Picton Castle here:

The fishing village of Blue Rocks

More from Blue Rocks

The sign offers "Shark Fishing Charters". I don't even want to think about that!

Crescent Beach village. Notice the lobster traps piled on the wharf on the right hand side.

We got home last night in time for a bowl of soup and bed, and it's back to work today.

Happy Quilting
Maggie
