Back to Work Now

Time to get back to work now after a week of sunshine and fun.  A friend has been helping me with my (very, very overgrown yard), and look what she unearthed (literally) in the back yard.

and these!

The lady who designed the garden, had a love of yellow flowers, and I have several of these beautiful yellow lilies blooming right now.  The Critter is impressed, too.  You can just see him on the right hand side of the picture.  I think he's looking for frogs.

Canada Post, still hasn't decided if my mail box, is "acceptable".  From what I understand, rural mail boxes in this area are being reassessed, and since I didn't live here when the assessment was done, they must send someone from Halifax (two and a half hours away), to determine whether my mailbox is worthy or not, and in the mean time I drive into town to collect it, which I usually do once a week.  Last week's mail included an order of batiks from Flare Fabrics.  There are a couple of really great neutrals in there;  I'm always on the hunt for neutral colors.

I have a couple of new books to occupy my evenings - since goodness knows, there's nothing to watch on television . . . . .

And last week's adventures included a stop at Lismore Sheep Farms, where I found new inspiration for my scarf knitting addition.  I don't care if it's summer, and very hot, I still knit!

This weeks adventures also unearthed a new local vintner, http://www.novascotiawines.com/, where I found this blueberry wine, which I'd have to say is one of the nicest I've ever tried!

One of the neatest things about reading blogs is when a blogger gives you a glimpse of their world. We're heading to Nova Scotia on Monday so I am happy to add Lismore Farm to my list. And I'm returning in the fall for the Fiber Arts Festival and bringing along a quilting/knitting friend who will love it too. Just loving the view as you uncover your new gardens.

Hi,Colleen! It's so nice to hear from "my readers". Lismore Farms is a great spot to visit. Have a wonderful trip, but be careful (wink). My addiction with Nova Scotia began with a vacation and I was hooked!
