Settling in and Sewing!

Well, I've been in my new/old house for over a month now;  where did the time go???  All the boxes are stowed away somewhere - we won't talk about the little bedroom upstairs, slated to be a music room (and yes there is a keyboard up there somewhere - among the boxes).  My new sewing studio is wonderful;  it's so easy to be creative when the only distractions are robins and hummingbirds.  This morning I started sewing at about 7:30;  a while later I realized I was hungry - maybe because it was 1:30 and I hadn't had lunch yet.

I've been playing around with a couple of ideas for series of quilts.  One is Vanilla, but I have to play with that one some more;  maybe I could add a little more color to my Vanilla blocks, but wouldn't that sort of defeat the purpose?

Then yesterday I had an urge to try 2 color quilts.  This one is a work in progress, and hopefully will be finished in the next day or so.

Right now I'm trying to decide on a layout and a border.

Then I realized it would have more dimension if it was a 3 color quilt instead of a 2 color quilt.  Maybe the next one?  I'm still not just sure about that border . . . . . kinda reminds me of wedding cakes and ruffles, yet it seems to work.

It's a beautiful sunny day here today, and I can hear a band practising off in the distance - a marching band that is, not a head-banging band.  It's quite nice wafting in on the breeze!

Happy Quilting!

The pastel blocks are yummy, the black and white is absolutely striking especially the second arrangement. I like things symmetrical. Is that your own design or can I get a pattern somewhere? Glad you are getting things settled in.

Thanks, Ann! That's my own design, done in EQ7.

It sounds like you have a wonderful studio to work in! I love the soft pastels that you're working with.
