When I moved here (coming up on 2 months ago) I was told my mail box would have to be "assessed" to see if it was acceptable. Someone would be sent from the city to look at my poor little mail box, and decide if it was okay or not. No, they didn't know when. No, they didn't know who. Just someone, sometime. And in the meantime, I could drive into town and pick it up, and I have to admit I was starting to embrace those weekly excuses to go to town. Well, my some time must have come, and my someone must have been here, because this morning I Got Mail! I was so excited when I saw that little flag up, that I tripped over The Critter! Granted, it was only junk mail, but It Was Mail! Now that I know I can keep this mailbox, I'll give it a coat of paint! Fuschia? Lime? Magenta? Back in the day, Sargent Crayons (remember them?) had a color they called Yellow Ochre. I loved that crayon! Maybe it'll be Yellow Ochre.
